Soroptimist International is committed to:

The Golden Guide to Advocacy
- Adhere to SI policy
- Designate a spokesperson for the issue
- Be well informed, consistent and succinct
- Educate members in the art of advocacy and keep them well informed about the issue
- Contact / target the appropriate people and decision makers
- Form partnerships with like-minded organizations
- Distribute regular media releases
- Monitor progress
- Be persistent, persuasive, passionate, polite, and politically sensitive

Position statements
Concise position statements, outlining what Soroptimists globally see as the core issues, and the necessary actions to address those issues, are created through a process of extensive discussion and consultation, leading to ratification by the SI International Board. They are published collectively in a document entitled Where We Stand (pdf).
