Soroptimist International of Europe (SIE) is delighted to announce the appointment of Anne
Simon as its new Executive Director. Anne brings a wealth of experience to SIE and will be an excellent asset to SIE’s work as a
global voice for women.
Anne worked
with Pricewaterhouse Coopers for some 20 years in various positions and
locations, including Geneva, London, New York and most
recently in the Middle East (Dubai) where she launched and led the PwC Middle East
Strategy and Survey Unit.
As part of her portfolio in Dubai, she worked
with the Dubai
Women Establishment, analysing women’s empowerment and leadership in the Arab world. She developed a programme consisting of a survey
for over 100 Arab women leaders across the Middle East and North Africa,
which explored enabling environments and opportunities instead of looking
exclusively at the traditional social barriers.
She also collaborated with
international experts including the World Bank, the International Labour
Organisation, the Arab League, Harvard Business
Schools, Simmons Management University, and Columbia University, creating case
studies, international benchmarks, and recommendations for women’s empowerment.
These
experiences are detailed in her recent PwC publication: “The Arab Women
Leadership Outlook”.
Prior to Dubai, she worked in New York and Geneva as the Director
of PwC Global External Affairs, reporting directly to the CEO. She successfully led the World Economic Forum/PwC
Partnership, and created a wide variety of management programmes
to support regions in optimising their positioning and visibility, while
demonstrating their local and international expertise.
Before accepting the position at SIE, Anne worked
for “Global Forum for Health Research” in Geneva as member of
the Senior Management team. She is currently studying for an MSc in Public Policy and
Management at the University of London which is on-going.
Anne speaks fluent English and holds French-Swiss
dual nationality. She lives in Geneva, with her
family.
Soroptimist International extends a warm welcome to Anne!
