Keys to Effective Strategies on
Active Ageing

The SI Clubs of Cyprus
have the great pleasure in inviting all our Soroptimist friends to participate
in the 9^th European Meeting and Friendship Days at Cyprus,
from 28^th September –
2^nd October 2012.

The organising of this event in Cyprus, an Island, situated
at the meeting point of three continents, will undoubtedly  facilitate the participation of Soroptimists
of many countries and will give the opportunity to participants from many
nations to come close to the Cypriot culture, history and nature. October is
the perfect time to visit Cyprus.

The
programme starts with a welcome session on the Friday evening  and the conference on Saturday dedicated to
the European Year 2012 for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations. It aims
to contribute to raising-awareness and promoting active ageing and solidarity
between generations at a time when the EU grapples with a steadily ageing
population and its impacts on public services and finances. Key objectives of the distinguished
speakers and round table discussion will be to:

1. Raise general awareness of the value of
   active ageing and solidarity between generations;
2. Stimulate a debate and develop mutual
   learning between Member States and
   stakeholders at   all levels, including
   civil society organizations;
3. Encourage and support policymakers and
   stakeholders to promote active ageing and solidarity between generations.

Important decisions are expected to be taken with a Global
Vision and a Global Voice.

Simultaneous interpretation will be offered in three languages:
Greek, English and French.

Optional
excursions are also organised – including a lot of fun!

We therefore look forward to
