“There were about 400 good Men who stepped on Board to
support 200 women to walk the talk in the Soroptimist International Malaysia’s
annual walk held during the 16 days of activism to eliminate Violence against
Women.

The men outnumbered the women as men were intentionally
targeted this year to support the campaign to make the point that its not a
women’s cause but that of society and the human race as a whole. Walk the Talk
was initiated in 2012 as a SWP federation wide campaign to eliminate
inexcusable acts of violence and abuse which inflict untold damage on the
victims and has a huge impact on the families and communities . The SI walk in
Malaysia in 2012 was an exemplary walk of grit and endurance by 3 SI members
who entered the Malaysia Book of Records for the longest walk of 850 km from
the northern most to the southern most tip of the country over 16 days . Walks
were held in 7 cities as the 3 walkers made their stops along the route.
