In 2014,
28 young women took part in a Soroptimist Leadership Academy at Lake
Ohrid in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. A joint project of
SI Struga (FYROM) and the SI Turkish Union, this highly succesful 10-day experience helped participants discover their leadership potential. The academy was thought up by Katerina Vasileska, Charter President of SI Struga, and as preperations get underway for the 2015 SLA, we hear from Katerina on how Soroptimists can get involved.
DEAR SOROPTIMIST SISTERS!
"It is our great pleasure to announce that we are moving forward towards the second edition of the Soroptimist Leadership Academy!" says Katerina. "Everybody nowadays speaks about the importance of empowering girls and having more women in leadership positions. This Academy is your chance as a dedicated Soroptimists to contribute to this, by motivating young women from all over Europe to become future leaders".

Inviting you to get involved with this years event, Katerina is now looking for Soroptimists to join the presenters team and also for Soroptimists to support a young woman to take part in the Academy. Katerina goes on to say: "The Leadership Academy would not be able to fulfil its mission without the support, energy, and motivation of Soroptimists!
