SI co-organises upcoming event on addressing global crises

Soroptimist International has joined up with International Presentation Association, Sikh Human Rights Group and the Bahá’í International Community to organise a side event in the margins of the 63rd session of the UN Commission for Social Development.

Titled ‘Building Social Resilience and Solidarity: Community-Led Approaches to Addressing Global Crises’ the event takes place on 11 February 2025 at 4.45 to 6.00 pm EST.

The location will be Conference Room 9 at the UN HQ and it will be live-streamed on UN Web TV.

The Permanent Mission of Ireland to the United Nations, the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and the NGO Committee on Social Development are all sponsoring this event.

The acceleration of crises in today’s societies highlights the urgent need to promote social resilience and solidarity as essential elements to overcome these challenges. Together, they play a pivotal role in advancing the commitments of the Copenhagen Declaration, the Programme of Action of the World Summit for Social Development, and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
