A $10,000 boost to the Women, Water & leadership Appeal

Chartered in 2002, SI Central Solano County, Fairfield, California has 56 members and have chosen to give their support – in a big way – to the 2017-2019 President’s Appeal, Women, Water & Leadership (WWL). The 2018-2019 Club President Joan Towner, was delighted that two of major club fundraisers: Mardi Gras Madness, and the LunaFest Film festival, were a great success, coming in over budget, and giving them the opportunity to make a big splash for WWL! Providing a superb $10,000 US dollars, the fabulous donation will support WWL projects taking place in Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia and Bulgaria.

Mary Beutner, Disbursements Chair says, “We know that in many parts of the world it is the responsibility of women and girls to gather water for the family. We also know that water is going to be an increasingly precious resource. We want to support and empower women in education, careers and decision-making, and increase awareness of water use and advance policy. We know that women will make good decisions that will benefit families and communities and ensure safe water for years to come. We feel this project is essential: water is life!”

Thank you to all the members of SI Central Solano County, and each and every one of you that is working so hard to support the WWL campaign!

Wow! What a fabulous decision. Most of us do not truly understand how precious is access to clean water and sanitation and how it can change life for a woman and her children! “Mitch” SI Bayside (SISWP)
