To celebrate the Best Practice winners 2010 – 2011, we will be
running a special series of Best Practice blogs over the coming days.
These articles are written by the clubs themselves, and in many cases
will appear in English and the language of the club. We hope you enjoy
learning about the 2010 – 2011 Best Practice projects and take away
ideas and inspiration for the future!
Programme Focus Objective: Promote peaceful conflict resolution, inter-cultural and inter-racial tolerance and condemn genocide.
In November
2009, ten members of SI Fukuoka-Kita visited Fair Trade Café, Anni panni, which
also organizes a language school, computer classes and cooking classes for victims/survivors
of domestic violence, in partnership with Asian Women’s Shelter Center, an
NGO. They introduced one woman to Soroptimist International Fukuoka-Kita club who
required financial and emotional support. However due to her personal
situation, we did not have opportunity to meet her long time.
We
signed her up for language classes, and also we provided materials and basic
funds for her class. We were careful to protect her identity. These SI
Fukuoka-Kita Club actions made her financial independent. Since 2009, SI
Fukuoka-Kita has organised fundraisers at Café Anni-Panni, and also we donated $3500.
Finally,
we met her and were glad to hear she had recovered from depression and gained
many skills to help her in the future. She is proud of herself to be able to
teach her own mother tongue language in Japan. She
told us that now she is able to have hope and dreams. Our club members were
overwhelmed to hear all her plans for the future and happy to see her grow as an
independent woman.

DV被害外国籍女性自立支援活動レポート————- 藤原ありさSI福岡―北
2009年11月7日、私達ソロプチミスト福岡―北会員10名は、外国語教室が行われているFair trade Café anni panni(カフェ・アニパニ)を訪れ、語学講師であるDV被害女性、支援団体のNPO法人アジア女性センターを交えて集いました。
カフェ・アニパニは加害者（国籍等シークレット）から身を隠しているDV被害女性が集える拠点（外国語教室、フォローアップ、パソコン、料理教室などに利用）としてつくられました。SI福岡―北は、設立時より経済的（2009年は3,500ドル寄付）、物質的（カフェ・アニパニを利用し販売促進に協力・バザー品の提供等）援助を続けています。
加害者から身を隠しているDV被害女性は、その情報管理は厳しくソロプチミストが直接会うことは限られています。具体的に私たちは、DV被害女性の自立支援のためのプログラムの構築、実施のための資金調達、受講者募集のチラシの配布、その活動の拠点アニパニの維持を行っています。写真正面の女性（顔はよく見えないようにとっています）が講師です。彼女は自国語を教えることで、失った自尊心や能力を回復し、自信を持ち、夢や希望をもてるようになったと話をしてくれました。
会員は、同じ女性としてこのDV被害女性の役に立てたことをうれしく思い、いきいきと語学講師をしているDV被害女性の姿に感動しました。
この日は、DV被害女性を囲み、彼女を勇気づけ、私達にこれから何ができるかを
話し合いました。
SI福岡―北会員は、一人でも多くのDV被害女性の自立を望んでやみません。
