Q: How long have you been a Soroptimist?
“I have been a member since 1994, so 24 years as a Soroptimist”.
Q: What is the best thing about being a Soroptimist?
“It is wonderful to be part of a force that strives to empower women and girls towards a better future. One of my favourite experiences is to have organised health check-ups for the indigenous community in Janda Baik through the mymedical centre, providing effective follow up on health problems. Additionally, to have participated in a week-long Friendship Link programme with members of SI Forssa, Finland. During this time I enjoyed a home stay with the family of a Finnish member, visited projects and shared Malaysian experience”.
Q: Please tell us a little about yourself?
“I am an English graduate with ten years experience of teaching English at secondary schools, and offering free tutoring for the less priviledged. I am currently an administrator at a medical centre and I enjoy travelling and working on joint projects with other clubs and NGOs. I also love music, dance and drama”.
Q: What is the most exciting part of being in the Committee for the 2019 SI Committee?
“It is great to be in a position to promote Malaysia to Soroptimists around the world, and share expertise with talented women”.
Q: What are you most looking forward to about the Convention?
“I am looking forward to good attendance, the impactful speakers and in making many memories to cherish”.
