Over two years ago the SI Board allowed me to "pilot" the SI Programme Blog as a mechanism that would bring information directly to YOU! My intention was to use social media to give everyone instant access to brief reports, views, information, and "on the spot" reporting of events that Soroptimists participate in.

I hoped that you would relish the global outreach of Soroptimist and also learn about other complimentary activity that affects women and girls around the world.We haven’t "statistically" analyzed our effect but have received feedback both positive and constructive and I have happily witnessed the use of this little homespun no frills SI Programme Blog at several meetings that I have participated in! In September 2010 the "transformational" magic of our SIHQ Programme Staff took the SI Blog to a new level to prepare us for the truly great SOROPTIVOICE BLOG and the revitalized Website that you are entering in!

The new SoroptiVoice Blog will feature guest reporters each week, as well as more regular contributions from the SIHQ team. These special guest blog spots will explore, share and celebrate Soroptimist Voices from all around the world. I look forward to being given the opportunity in just a few weeks to be "an on the spot" reporter among several invited guests to show our on the ground work as well as our views on issues relevant to our Soroptimist mission.
