Gender equality – a fairytale for men and boys? New Soroptimist film launched at #CSW58

A loving family with positive role models. Taught to build healthy relationships, respect others and himself. Empowered to use his strength in many ways and pursue any career path. Able to spend time with his children. Is this a fairy tale for men and boys?

Soroptimist International launched a new film exploring this issue at our  parallel event at CSW58 examining a male perspective on gender equality.

Poet, speaker and actor Carlos A. Gomez and anti-racist, feminist,
queer of color activist Darnell L. Moore both spoke of their own
journeys to escape the "rigid boxes without souls", to which stereotypes
had confined them. Unfortunately, a third speaker, Jimmie Briggs, was
unable to attend.  Read more updates from CSW58.

This latest film follows on from the 2011 SI film, Educate to lead – a fairy tale.  (view on Youtube).
