International of the South West Pacific welcomes Theresa Lyford as President
for the 2016-2018 Biennium.

Theresa’s
theme for her Biennium is "Shaping our Future – Innovate, Inform,
Inspire"

SISWP President Theresa Lyford introduces Innovate, Inform, Inspire for
the 2016-2018 Biennium. Project challenge – Soroptimists: Be the
Changemakers; #EpitomizeSoroptimists; call to dream big.

Theresa
used the Letter ‘I’ which features in our name as a basis for her
theme of Innovate, Inform, Inspire. In shaping the way forward she outlined the
need for the Federation to be seen as refreshingly edgy, real, authentic,
engaging and inclusive.

 Theresa also spoke of the need for us to become
‘disruptors’ and challenge the traditional way of doing things, so that we are
able to constantly evolve our processes and function to meet the changing world that
we live in. Encouraging SWP federation members to embrace new technologies –
especially regarding how we operate in the digital age and in the realm of
media – and  to be agile and adapt quickly. Theresa emphasised
the need to be fearless in this world and take that ‘permission slip’ and use
it to move forward by Dreaming Big and not being held back by structures and
routines of the past.

Finally Theresa announced that the 2018 SISWP Conference
of Clubs will be held in Melbourne from 4-6 May 2018, and welcomed all present
to attend at what will be the 21st SISWP Conference of Clubs and a time to
celebrate this ‘coming of age’ event."
