Opening Doors: Georgia

The third Opening Doors Appeal project was launched in Georgia, Eastern Europe, in October 2022. The project was launched in collaboration with the organisation World Vision Georgia, and aims to empower women and girls by improving life skills and employability, in a country where 74% of women experience intimate partner violence.

To improve employability of girls and women in the planned project, WVG is to support women and girls through a series of interventions.

  • 45 vulnerable girls and young women will have improved digital competencies;
  • 10 vulnerable women-led households with children will have improved socio-economic inclusion and will be encouraged to set up small businesses and participate in community structures and networks;
  • 5 vulnerable women will have advanced English language training to be able to compete in the Georgian job market.
