Programme Focus Objective: Assure women’s advancement in management, politics and decision making.

Naracoorte Girl Guides are upgrading the grounds around their hall. SI Naracoorte members were asked to help and the club chose to assist with a donation of $350 towards outdoor seating. The club wanted to foster a relationship with the local Girl Guides in line with the Soroptimist International move towards closer ties with the World Wide Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

Naracoorte Historical Vehicle Club asked for support with catering for their patrons who come to the Naracoorte Swapmeet, which is a very large outdoor event bringing people from all around Australia. Soroptimist members cooked and sold hot donuts to the patrons. Members were rostered on duty throughout the day. From this effort we were able to raise funds to assist the guides. Members supported the Naracoorte Historical Vehicle Club (NHVC) by assisting with catering for their large event. Good profit was made and this money was donated to Naracoorte Girl Guides for their outdoor seating. Closer ties have been forged with the Guides, as well as building on important local links with other organisations.
