Soroptimist International Foundation is delighted to announce the winners of the 2023 Visible and Vocal Public Speaking Competition. This competition is specifically designed to involve girls aged between 10 -11 years of age.
International Winners
First prize – Stefanie, Philippines, Soroptimist International America, speaking about “As girls, what can we do to address climate change?”
Second prize – Gaelle, Rwanda, Soroptimist International Africa Federation, speaking about “What are the barriers as a girl to achieving your career aspirations?”
Third prize – Olivia, Australia, Soroptimist International South East Asia Pacific, speaking about “What are the barriers as a girl to achieving your career aspirations?”

The Visible and Vocal Public Speaking Competition took place on Soroptimist International Foundation Day and the UN Human Rights Day, 10th December 2023.
The Soroptimist International Foundation (SIF) worked in partnership with The Commonwealth Business Women’s Network (CBWN) to deliver a public speaking competition. The Adjudicators, Siew Yong Gnanalingam, SI President Elect, Helen Jones, CBWN, and Sinead Lunney said ” All of the girls were fabulous, and that made our role very difficult”
Soroptimist Clubs from around the world were invited to hold local public speaking competitions in schools to identify a local winner who was subsequently invited to take part in the final held on 10th December 2023.
The overall winner received a prize donated by our Sponsor – Oasis Travel, Northern Ireland, the runner up received a cash prize and the other entrants will be given a token of appreciation for taking part in the Final. All prizes will be beneficial to their personal development in moving forward with their education.
