Soroptimist International now has clubs in 130 countries and territories worldwide, thanks to the chartering of SI Northern Mariana Islands with 18 founder members. A territory of the United States, the Northern Mariana Islands are located east of the Philippines and south of Japan and consist of three islands, Saipan, Tinian and Rota.
SI of the Northern Mariana Islands joins a network of over 3000 Soroptimist International clubs around the world with nearly 80,000 members, all working to educate, empower and enable opportunities for women and girls in their communities and beyond. Soroptimists come from a wide range of backgrounds, occupations, and age groups but are united by a common desire to work together for women and girls.
The club will be part of the SI of the Americas Federation, which now includes 20 countries and territories. Read more about the work and collective impact of Soroptimists around the world in our 2012-13 Global Impact Report.
